Ca' Gioiosa was bought in 2001 as a very run down property, but as the renovation work progressed we realised that it was going to be big enough to enable some rooms to be let to guests. As the location is so pretty we were confident it would be appreciated by those looking for a bit of peace and contact with relatively unspoilt nature. The track to the house (about 100 meters) is a bit hairy, but it gives us views across the valley and is only 3 miles to the local towns of Bazzano and Monteveglio. The house is built on the side of a hill and is surrounded by a vineyard and fruit trees. At the lower part of the property there is a small private lake where you can try your hand at fishing (amateurs only!). It is a good area for country walks and cycling and you may be lucky and see some deer or wild boar. We always emphasise to any enquirers that having a car is absolutely a must. This can be hired at the airport for those travelling to Bologna by plane although it is usually a lot cheaper to rent from the train station in Bologna as you don't have to pay airport tax, which is 14% of the whole rental cost! |

| The guest accommodation is on the first floor of the house and access is by an outside staircase (17 steps ). The three guest rooms each have an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet, basin and bidet, mosquito nets on all the windows and fans in the bedrooms for the hotter weather. Naturally, we provide all towels and bed linen, although should you be using the local pool or going to the beach we suggest you bring your own beach towel. There is a sitting room with satellite TV, CD player, radio and playstation, and a small well-equipped kitchen, with iron and ironing board provided. Guidebooks to the major towns of interest in English are available on loan. The upstairs terrace has a table and chairs, with more tables, chairs, sun loungers, table tennis, swings and a slide, as well as a pizza oven (wood burning) and a barbecue in the garden. There is a covered carport at the front of the house, and two bicycles are available for guests use. |

| Most of our guests opt for a bed and breakfast arrangement. This means that their room is serviced daily and bath towels are changed every three days. Breakfast can be served inside or out, and consists of tea or coffee, fruit juice, cereal, yoghurt, croissants, bread, butter and jam. |

| However, rooms can be let on an accommodation only basis at a lower rate but this only includes servicing once a week, linen change every seven days and,of course, does not include breakfast. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

All guest bedrooms now have the option of being airconditioned at a cost of €5.00 per day. We have a small splashpool (4mx4m) for cooling off in the summer heat. |
