Ca' Gioiosa emblem
Flexible accommodation in the foothills of the Apennine mountains between Bologna and Modena
the area where we're situated
Ca' Gioiosa (pronounced 'Ka Joyoza' and meaning 'Happy House') is situated half way between Bologna and Modena: a bit off the beaten track but wonderful for those looking for a peaceful base from which to explore this wonderful area. Well within a few hours driving distance are such famous places as Venice, Milan, the Italian lakes, Ravenna, Florence, Siena, Pisa and the Cinque Terra, with hundreds of beautiful and interesting towns and villages scattered around in the rolling hills of Emilia-Romagna.

At Ca' Gioiosa, we provide our guests with an en-suite bedroom, (we have three) with breakfast served either in the garden (the weather usually lends a helping hand) or in the sitting room. Whether you are staying for one night or one month, we aim to make you feel special. The idea is for you to feel at home whilst you enjoy this beautiful country, and although you will no doubt be out all day exploring the endless possibilities the area has to offer, we will endeavour to make the start to your day as pleasant as possible with breakfast of your choice, and a comfortable room to rest in at the end of your day out.

You may also rent the apartment on a self-catering basis as it has a well equipped small kitchen.

We can speak French and Italian fluently as well as English (I was born and bred in Yorkshire), and the children (Elisa 20 and Francesco 15) are competent in English and are encouraged to practise!!

Ca' Gioiosa is just 30 minutes from Bologna and its airport, and Forli' airport is about an hour and 20 minutes away (to the south east of Bologna). Cars can be hired at both airports and are really essential to enjoy fully the countryside of Emilia-Romagna.

EasyJet fly at least once a day out of Stansted to Rimini (see www.easyjet.com)

Ryanair also fly out of Stansted but to Forli' & Parma
(go to www.ryanair.com)

Both airlines provide an excellent, low cost service!
